The suburb of Mermaid Waters sits behind Mermaid beach and is know for its canals and waterways. The name originated from the cutter ship Mermaid, on which the Australian surveyor John Oxley travelled when he first came to the area in 1823 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mermaid_Waters,_Queensland)
This mostly residential suburb is home to a variety of properties, from luxury waterfront mansions to affordable duplex and apartments. It is also ideally located near public transport, schools, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre parks, playgrounds and a library.
